How to Apply to our Graduate Program
The Department of Nutritional Sciences welcomes applicants interested in advanced study in general nutrition, personalized nutrition, and other aspects of human health. Qualified students may apply for the MS or Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences, the online MS in Personalized Nutrition, or the expedited BS/MS 4+1 pathway if eligible. Applicants should review program requirements carefully and connect with the department to determine the best fit for their goals.

Application Process and Timeline
Apply to the UConn Graduate School
Prospective students with an identified Major Advisor should apply for graduate study in the UConn Department of Nutritional Sciences via the Graduate School’s online application. Include the name of your Major Advisor on the application form.
Additional Department Requirements
- Three letters of recommendation
- Personal Statement
- Recommended course preparation: physiology, biochemistry, nutrition
Application Review
Students meeting entrance requirements will be admitted to the Graduate Program in Nutritional Sciences. Applicant files will be reviewed by all Graduate Faculty members to match an applicant with a prospective advisor. Financial assistance is available in the form of research assistantships, named fellowships, and university scholarships. Financial aid forms must be completed before aid can be considered
