3410. Physiology and Assessment of Nutritional Biomarkers

Prerequisites: NUSC 1165 and BIOL 1107.

Grading Basis: Graded

A lecture and laboratory course which provides advanced nutrition students with a foundational understanding of the physiological pathways underlying biomarkers used to characterize nutritional status, in addition to hands-on experience in the application of nutritional assessment methodology. Anthropometric, biochemical, clinical, dietary, and genetic assessments of healthy and clinical populations will be used to assess nutritional status.
